The Dominican University women's volleyball team staved off the Benedictine University Eagles on Wednesday evening in the Igini Sports Forum, topping the Eagles in five sets (29-27, 25-21, 23-25, 17-25, 15-11).

Maddi Zanoni (Hudsonville, Mich.) and
Carri Chambers (Winnebago, Ill.) shared team-high honors with 13 kills apiece for the Stars in the winning effort while
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) and
Jackie Mursuli (Inverness, Ill.) shared setting responsibilities, dishing out 34 and 18 assists respectively.

Offensively, Dominican utilized 11 different attackers, posting a .197 hitting percentage with 66 kills to 29 errors on 188 attempts while Benedictine, paced by Beckie Whitmarsh's 14 kills, hit .179.

Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) collected a team-high 21 digs for the Stars.

The Stars are now 13-6 on the season, including a 2-0 mark in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play and a 3-1 record in five set matches. Dominican will head North on Friday, traveling to Sheboygan to take on the Lakeland College Muskies before trekking further North on Saturday to Madison where Dominican will compete against Edgewood College and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.Â
