The Dominican University men's basketball team fell to 4-15 on the season with an 89-77 loss at Rockford University on Wednesday evening. The Rockford Regents used an 17-9 run to close out the first half, taking a 45-36 lead at the break, and then kept the Stars at bay throughout the second half.
Dominican's
Tim Robertson (Chicago, Ill.) and
Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) scored 20 points apiece in the losing effort while
Kevin Mack (Detroit, Mich.) and
Mike Bobek (Orland Hills, Ill.) chipped in 14 and ten points respectively.
As a team, the Stars shot just under forty percent from the field (29-73) while Rockford managed to shoot over 52-percent (30-57).
For the Regents, John O'Bryan and Zach Wallace combined for 62 points with O'Bryan netting a game-high 34 points on 10-for-23 shooting from the field and converting on nine of his 11 attempts from the free throw line.
Dominican will be back in action on Saturday, traveling to Lakeland College to take on the Muskies at 2:00 p.m.
