The Dominican University women's soccer team rolled over the Lakeland College Muskies on Saturday afternoon, topping the Muskies 8-0.
"We played really well today," said an excited
Carlos Carrillo after the match. "We created really nice opportunities and scored some pretty goals."
Tania Paez scored the game-winner in the 14
th minute of play and the Stars added strikes by
Josseline Williams and
Lexi Kiotis before the first half was over.
The second half found the Stars picking up where they left off, getting goals from
Alyssa Messina, Williams,
Jackie Viola,
Madison Pardo and
Nina Izzo.
Dominican completely dominated the stat sheet, ripping 29 shots to the Muskies two and putting 20 on goal to just one shot on goal for Lakeland.
Pamela Ruiz picked up the shutout in goal for the Stars, the second shutout in a row for Dominican and third of the season.
The Stars return home to host the Concordia University Chicago Cougars on Wednesday afternoon at West Campus Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
