The Dominican University women's soccer team picked up their first win of the season on Sunday afternoon, topping the St. Norbert College Green Knights 1-0 in DePere, Wisconsin.
Alyssa Messina scored the eventual game-winner in the 48
th minute of play.

"We played really well," stated
Carlos Carrillo, the Stars' head coach following the win. "We were organized and capitalized on our best opportunity, playing hard for ninety minutes. I am very proud of the team for their hard work and commitment."

Senior goalkeeper
Vanessa Gonzalez picked up the win in goal for the Stars, logging one save while facing three shots to post the shutout. As a team, the Stars outshot the Green Knights 7-3, putting four shots on goal and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The Stars, now 1-1-0, return to the pitch at West Campus Field on Saturday, September 10, hosting the Illinois Tech Scarlet Hawks for a noon kickoff to begin the Dominican University homecoming festivities.
