The Dominican University women's volleyball team closed out the 2017 regular season on Friday night, dropping a pair of three-set matches at the Benedictine University Eagle Classic, falling to Greenville University (25-20, 25-17, 25-17) and Carthage College (25-17, 25-12, 25-18). The losses snapped a five-match winning streak for the Stars, their longest since 2015.
Kendyl Todd managed 18 kills in the matches, knocking down ten kills on just 13 swings in the loss to Greenville before managing eight kills on 22 attacks in the losing effort against Carthage.
Dominican will use the weekend to regroup and prepare for the postseason, hosting the Lakeland University Muskies in the quarterfinals of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament on Tuesday. The Stars went 8-3 in the conference regular season to earn the fourth-seed while the Muskies went 7-4. The winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal advances to the semifinals on Thursday, traveling to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons, the tournament's top seed.
