The Dominican University men's basketball team, in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament for the first time since 2013, saw their 2016-2017 campaign come to a close on Wednesday night, falling to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 94-67 in the quarterfinals of the NACC Tournament. With the loss, the Stars finish the season at 12-14 overall, the most wins in the program since the 2007-2008 season.
The Falcons shot better than 67-percent from the field in the first half, including connecting on nine of 15 attempts from three-point range, to open a 54-27 lead at the half.
Dominican cut the lead down to 13, 61-48, with 13:27 to play thanks to a quick six-point spurt capped by a
Josh Mayberry lay in but the Falcons answered with their own 6-0 run to push the lead back to 19 with just over 12 minutes to play.
The Stars tried to make one more run, scoring seven straight over a two-minute stretch to trim the Falcons' lead to 14, 72-58, when
Isaac Moore finished a three-point play with 8:53 to play but the Falcons outscored the Stars 22-9 the rest of the way to keep Dominican at bay.

Tim Robertson scored a team-high 21 points on 7-for-16 shooting while Mayberry closed out his career with 19 points to move all the way up to second on the Rosary College/Dominican University all-time scoring list with 1,681 career points.
For the Falcons, all five starters finished in double-figures, led by Andrew Fratzke's 18 points on 9-for-12 shooting. Eric Kittel added 16 points while freshman Josh Hau tallied 13 as the Falcons improve to 17-9 on the season and advance to the NACC Tournament semifinals where they will meet the #2 Aurora University Spartans on Friday.
