After opening the season with a pair of home wins, the Dominican University men's soccer team took to the road on Wednesday evening, falling to the North Park University Vikings, 4-2, in nearby Chicago.
The Vikings opened the scoring in the 21
st minute when Peder Nalum Olsen got on the end of Chase Lennartz service into the box.
The Stars leveled the score minutes later when a Vikings' foul gave the Stars a restart in the attacking third. On the ensuing restart,
Jonathan Arzeta served a ball for the back post that Adam Yaghmour# was able to get on the end of and drive a header into the back of the goal.
In the 31

North Park added to the lead in the 51

Aaron Menyes. Kozuna was able to bury the rebound in the back of the goal for the 3-1 Vikings' advantage.
Dominican pulled within 3-2 in the 63
rd minute thanks in large part to another restart, this time out near midfield. As the free kick was served into the box, a North Park defender took down a Dominican attacker and the Stars were awarded a penalty kick.
Nestor Ascencio buried the penalty for his second goal of the season.
With the Stars throwing numbers forward trying to get the equalizer, the Vikings were able to capitalize in the 79
th minute, scoring an insurance goal off the foot of Gustav Ericsson to close out the game's scoring.
North Park outshot the Stars 17-9, including an 11-5 advantage in shots on goal. Menyes was credited with seven saves, five in the second half, in falling to 2-1-0 on the season in goal.
"We gave up some bad goals tonight and didn't capitalize on a few chances that need to be put away," said Erick Baumman, the Stars' head coach, following the loss. "That can't happen in a game like that and then expect to come away with a result on the road."
The Stars, now 2-1-0 on the season, head for Jacksonville, Illinois, on Saturday to take on the Illinois College Blueboys. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
