The Dominican University men's soccer team led 1-0 into the second half before surrendering a pair of goals in the final 30 minutes of a 2-1 loss to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday afternoon at West Campus Field.

When asked about the loss, Dominican's head coach Erick Baumann was direct, saying, "We gave that game away today."

Dominican opened the scoring in the 27
th minute when freshman
Jonathan Hernandez scored a spectacular goal. After the Falcons failed to clear a bouncing ball out of the box, Hernandez, with his back to the goal, scored on a bicycle kick, placing his shot just under the crossbar.

Playing with the lead into the 63
rd minute, Dominican was whistled for a foul in the box resulting in a penalty kick goal for the Falcons to level the score at 1-1. The score remained tied for the next twenty minutes until the Stars again failed to clear their defensive end. A mishit resulted in a ball behind the backline that Cristian Tyrpak popped up and over
Daniel Dominguez and inside the far post for the game-winner.

In a match that featured 35 fouls and five cautions, Dominican generated six corner kick opportunities while surrendering just two to the Falcons. Concordia Wisconsin held a slight 16-12 advantage in shots with both sides putting five shots on goal. Nate Yeager made four saves in goal for the Falcons while Dominguez logged three saves for Dominican.

The loss drops the Stars to 7-4-0 on the season and 4-2-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The Stars will look to get back into the win column on Wednesday, hosting the Aurora University Spartans for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff in River Forest.
