The Dominican University baseball team picked up a walk-off victory on Tuesday, topping the Penn State-Behrend Lions 3-2 to move to 3-1 on the Stars' spring trip to Fort Pierce, Florida, and 4-3 overall.
Medin Milla, making his first start collegiate start, went eight-plus innings, surrendering just two runs on 11 hits and no walks while striking out six.
"I was very proud of the way we battled today," said Steve Hardman, the Stars' head coach. "We were finally on the right side of a one-run game. We got another quality start from our starting pitcher, today Medin Milla. It is fun to watch these guys respond to the challenges I present to them before games. Tomorrow is a much needed day off before we start the second half of our trip. We are prepared to finish strong."

After the Lions evened the game at 2-2 in the top of the ninth, freshman
Nick Roeper reached on an error.  After a line out,
Ryan Simak's grounder to third was picked but the throw sailed up the right field line allowing Roeper to come around all the way from first, sliding across the plate just ahead of the throw for the winning run.

The Stars had opened a 2-0 lead behind Milla as
Alec Coggins skyed a double to center to plate
Frankie Sessa in the second and later Sessa doubled in the sixth to score
Colin Janison in the sixth.

In the field Dominican was superb, turning a pair of double plays, including a 5-4-3 double play in the top of the second, wiping out a leadoff single.  The Stars then escaped the seventh with a 6-3 double play after another leadoff single.

The Stars tallied six hits in the winning effort, including five doubles.
Frankie Sessa went 3-for-4 with two doubles.  Janison, Coggins and Roeper each picked up a double as well.

The win went to
Austin Michals who pitched the last two-thirds of the ninth inning, working around two walks and leaving the bases loaded when he got Scott Sada to pop out to short.

The Stars will enjoy a day off on Wednesday before returning to the Lawnwood Athletic Complex on Thursday for a 1:00 p.m. game against Kenyon College.
