The Dominican University men's tennis team blanked the Concordia Chicago Cougars, 9-0, on Friday afternoon in Forest Park, Illinois, to improve to 4-5 on the season and 2-2 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
The Stars dominated every flight, winning all of the singles matches in straight sets and dropping just five total games in doubles actions.
"Today was a great team effort," commented Troy Tonsil, the Dominican University head men's tennis coach. "I thought we responded very well from last weekend…executed great volleys throughout the match, which we worked exclusively on this week in practice. Our goal is to play as if we are competing in the conference tournament today. We looked confident, focused and determined in each match and it showed in the final result. We have a big match tomorrow and are looking forward to the challenge."
The Stars continue to navigate NACC play on Saturday, hosting the Aurora University Spartans to a 10:00 a.m. match in Forest Park.
