The Dominican University baseball team continued to struggle in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play, dropping a conference doubleheader to the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors, 14-1 and 10-7, on Saturday afternoon at Schaumburg Boomers Stadium. The Stars, who opened the season 8-3 through their first 11 games, have fallen to 10-16 on the season, losing 13 of 15 games since returning to the Midwest after traveling to Fort Pierce, Florida, for the program's Spring Trip in early March.
Â
"We are really struggling right now," said Steve Hardman, the Stars' head baseball coach. "We pitched, hit and fielded really well early in the season and can't seem to put it together. We are lacking the focus and confidence that we had early in the season and it shows in the results. All too often we are having to play from behind early and that makes each facet of the game harder. We know we have the ability to play, I just hope we can put it together again in a hurry and find the team that we were early in the season."
Â
After managing just two hits in game one, the Stars managed seven hits in game two, pushing across seven runs with the help of seven walks and eight hit-by-pitches. The Stars even managed to put the tying run on base, and bring the winning run to the plate, in the bottom of the ninth after trailing 9-1 and later 10-3.

Dominican will get back to work on Sunday afternoon, taking the short trip down Division Street to meet the Concordia University Chicago Cougars. First pitch in the NACC doubleheader is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
