The Dominican University softball team pulled back to .500 at 15-15 for the first time since opening the season 6-6 with a pair of five-inning wins over the Rockford University Regents on Saturday afternoon in Rockford. The Stars pounded out 11 hits in an 11-3 game one win before collecting 13 hits in a 15-4 win in game two.
The Stars will get back to work on Sunday, traveling up to Madison, Wisconsin, to take on the Edgewood College Eagles in a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) series. The Stars will then finally enjoy a couple of days rest before closing out the regular season next week with series at Aurora and Wisconsin Lutheran before returning home for the regular season finale against Alverno next Saturday.

Michele Behrens picked up the win in both ends of Saturday's twin bill, working three innings in each game before
Olivia Babusci closed out both games, working the final two innings. In game one, Behrens surrendered just one run on three hits and one walk before allowing three runs on three hits in game two. Babusci allowed three runs over her four total innings of work, limiting the Regents to just four hits and a walk while facing 17 batters.
Offensively, the Stars collected 24 total hits, including five extra-base hits. Freshman
Julia Orozco was a perfect 5-for-5 in the doubleheader with two walks, a triple, four runs scored and three RBIs.
Ali Woitovich added four hits, including two doubles, and drove in five runs.
