"It's a cruel game sometimes but credit to Lakeland—they stayed committed to their game plan and worked very, very hard and got a great performance from their goalkeeper. I also give our players a lot of credit for staying focused and competing as hard as they did to get that first goal. It took a while but it was a determined group tonight."
On the team's 11
th and final corner of the match, Dominican finally broke through when
Alexander Lulek got on the end of
Isaac Perez's service, heading home what proved to be the game-winning goal. Five minutes later the Stars knocked in an insurance tally when
Denis Soldo gained the endline on the right side before centering pass for
Nicolo Vitale who tapped in his fifth goal of the season.
Tyler Marfo picked up the win in goal, his first of the season, after taking over for
Daniel Dominguez in the 28
