The Dominican University men's volleyball team established its dominance on Friday evening, sweeping through the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons (25-18, 25-14, 25-12) on the road in Mequon, Wisconsin. The Stars needed just 61 minutes to improve to 11-8 on the season and 6-3 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). Dominican will look to extend its current winning streak to four on Saturday, traveling to Sheboygan, Wisconsin, for a conference matchup with Lakeland University before taking on the Southern Virginia Knights in a non-conference tilt.
"We are very pleased to pull out a sweep on the road tonight," commented Dan Pawlikowski, the Stars' second-year head coach, following the win. "This win was really important for our psyche as a group…and limiting it to three sets was crucial as we have a quick turnaround and another two tough matches on the docket for Saturday. It was great to see a number of guys contribute and for us to hopefully start to get back on track offensively too."
The Dominican attack was efficient, hitting at a .415 clip for the first time in over a month behind 35 assists from
Jack McGuire. As a team, the Stars managed 42 kills on just 82 total attacks while committing just eight errors.
Jake Sidner knocked down a team-high ten kills while
Adrian Cebula added nine and
Adam Eboli tallied seven kills on just nine swings. In total, nine different attackers managed at least one kill for the night.
Defensively, the Stars limited the Falcons to an .095 attack percentage with just 24 kills to 16 errors on 84 total attacks. Dominican picked up 37 digs, paced by libero
Bregin DeMarco who collected nine digs in the winning effort. At the net, the Stars posted five total blocks, two apiece for
