The Dominican University baseball team slipped to 3-3 on the season, suffering a 23-0 setback at the hands of the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen on Monday morning at the Lawnwood Athletic Complex in Fort Pierce, Florida.  The Stars managed just three hits, one an extra-base hit by freshman Camron Stafford, while surrendering 21 hits, seven for extra bases, to the Dutchmen.
 
"Uncompetitive can't start to explain how we played today," said Steve Hardman, the Stars' head coach following the loss. "This is the type of loss that sets you back as a program. I am interested to see how we come to play tomorrow."
 
The Dutchmen jumped out to the early lead, putting up five runs in the top of the first, with the first six hitters all reaching base.  Lebanon Valley tacked on six more and never looked back.  Dominican's lone clean inning came in the top of the sixth when Dan Defino set the Dutchmen down in order, including a pair of strikeouts.
 
Dominican and Lebanon Valley will be back at it again on Tuesday.  First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.
