The Dominican University men's volleyball closed out their California swing on Wednesday night, falling to the Concordia University Irvine Eagles in three sets (25-16, 25-18, 25-23). The Stars, now 9-7 on the season, return back to the Midwest to return to Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play with a match at MSOE on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
"Kudos to a very athletic and aggressive Concordia Irvine team," commented Dan Pawlikowski, the Stars' head men's volleyball coach. "They consistently brought the fight to us all night. Really slow start for us tonight—happy to see us improve as the match went on. However, good teams don't let you get away with missed opportunities and inconsistent effort."
After hitting .304 in the first set, the Stars finished the night with a .103 attack percentage, committing 18 hitting errors. Across the net, the Eagles managed to hit at a .329 clip with 41 kills to 13 errors on 85 total attacks.
Jack McGuire ran the Stars' offense, collecting 24 assists while
Jake Sidner knocked down a team-high 10 kills.
