The Dominican University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, falling 9-0 to North Park University.
"Tough one today. We battled and fought but were beaten by a team that is more consistent and minimizes their errors and made us pay for ours", said
Troy Tonsil, the Stars' head women's tennis coach. "We will get better. We will continue to improve as we prepare for a big weekend as conference play opens up".
The Stars battled at the number three singles flight with senior
Maya Banks falling in two sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Evelin Silva also battled before falling 6-1, 6-1 at number five singles.
The loss drops Dominican to 0-2 on the year as they prepare to open up Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday at home against Marian University at 10:00 a.m. and Lakeland University at 2:00 p.m. in Forest Park, Illinois.
