RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's volleyball program defeated Rockford College 3-1 on Tuesday night in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
Dominican and Rockford split the opening two frames with DU taking set one 25-18 and RU fighting back for a 25-22 victory. From that point, the Stars seized the momentum and won the final two sets, 25-15 and 25-23, to take the match in four sets.
The Stars posted double-digit kills in all four sets and hit .336 as a team.
Gabija Sinickaite, who is approaching 1,000 career kills, led the offense with 13 kills while
Maya Green and
Emily Schellhase added 11 kills each.
Vicky Krzyszkowski posted eight kills in the middle at a blistering .636 clip.
Olivia Mendell and
Adeleen Dunker dished out 24 assists a piece to pace the offensive attack. Defensively,
Sarah Lychock led the way with 20 digs, supported by Schellhase with 11 and
Summer Smith's 10.
