RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's soccer program defeated Concordia-Chicago 2-0 at home in its final Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) regular season match, securing a first-round bye in the upcoming NACC Tournament.
The Stars clinched the No. 2 overall seed and will await their opponent after the quarterfinal matches on Saturday, Oct. 30. The semifinal match will kick-off at 1 p.m. from West Campus Field.
John Cronnolly found the scoresheet for DU with an unassisted goal in the 25th minute. Dominican continued to threaten on the offensive end for the duration of the match and was rewarded again in the 61st minute. A handball from CUC gave DU a penalty kick, of which
Vicente Castro stepped to the spot and slotted home.
With the two-goal advantage in hand, Dominican cruised to a shutout victory.
Daniel Dominguez stopped three shots and earned the clean sheet, his sixth of the season.
