RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's volleyball program defeated Concordia-Chicago in straight sets on Wednesday evening to finish off their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) slate for 2021.
Gabija Sinickaite surpassed the career milestone of 1,000 kills in her final match at the Igini Sports Forum. DU defeated the Cougars 28-26, 25-21 and 25-118, respectively, to earn the sweep of its nearby rivals.
Sinickaite finished with 16 kills while
Maya Green added nine at a .438 clip.
Keely McCallum and
Emily Schellhase also chipped in eight kills each. Defensively,
Sarah Lychock anchored the backline with 18 digs, adding two assists and one service ace.
Dominican also celebrated the careers of its senior class of
Summer Smith,
Sofia Susa, Sinickaite and Lychock. DU finishes its NACC campaign at 6-7 and will take on Simpson and Coe on Saturday, Oct. 30 in its final two contests of the season.
