RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 setback at Marian University on Wednesday evening in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action.
DU surrendered an early goal in the second minute to the Sabres to go behind 1-0. In the 16th minute, Marian doubled its lead with a goal.
Nick Kowalczyk scored a timely goal in the 40th minute to pull the Stars within one at the half.
Dominican had several second-half chances, outshooting Marian 11-2 in the frame, but couldn't strike for the equalizing goal. The Stars fall to 5-1 in NACC play and 8-2 overall.
