RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's women's soccer team won its eighth-straight match on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Marian University 4-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
DU wasted little time getting on the board, as
Hannah Anderson and
Ashleigh Huerta linked up down the left-wing in the second minute. Huerta sent a cross in which found
Regan Coxon right in front of goal for a tap-in finish to put Dominican up 1-0.
Daniela Tovar-Miranda kept the scoring going in the opening period, scoring unassisted goals in the 26th and 33rd minutes for a first-half brace. After the halftime break, Tovar-Miranda continued her scoring by finishing off the hat-trick in the 66th minute. She latched onto a ball from
Katie Norlie and volleyed it into the back of the net to put DU up 4-0.
Ashley Ishman earned another shutout as the DU backline pitched its eighth clean sheet of the season.
Dominican now turns its attention to its match at MSOE on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m., which will pit two of the top sides in the NACC against each other. Live coverage will be available via the links on dustars.com.
