RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team mounted a furious late comeback, but fell short 91-86 in a home Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchup against Lakeland University on Saturday afternoon.
DU trailed 50-29 after the opening 20 minutes with Lakeland stretching its advantage to 25 at the 15-minute mark in the second half. The Stars, however, chipped away at the lead, lessening the deficit to 18 with 4:40 left. DU then ripped off a 26-13 to finish the game, falling just short in a five-point defeat.
Jacob Riedl led the scoring for Dominican, posting a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
Christopher Burel and
Jackson Smith both added 18 points in support.
Chris Daniels II was the fourth Star in double-figures with 14 points. Smith and Daniels II each had four assists as well.
