The Regents responded in the bottom of the seventh as they hit a walk-off grand slam with two out to seal the 6-2 win.

Game Two:

In the top of the fourth inning, Zoe Deeringer led off with a double to left-center. Winters-McCarthy then hit an RBI double to left-center to make it 10-3. Hailey Morland hit a sacrifice bunt to advance Winters-Mcarthy to third before Lavin Catrambone's RBI single cut the deficit to 10-4.

Rockford responded in the bottom of the fifth inning with two runs of its own to extend the lead back to seven and make it 12-5.

Winters-McCarthy singled to the pitcher in the bottom of the sixth inning before Catrambone singled to right-field to put runners in the corners. Giselle Castaneda stepped in the box next and hit a single that plated Winters-McCarthy making it 12-6 and Rockford taking the victory.

"With up to 50 mile per hour wind gust blowing straight out to center field, it was an absolute adventure trying to catch fly balls", Head Coach Cristina Lukas said. "We missed about 5 routine pop ups that landed 30 feet farther than expected. We didn't make the adjustment, and it cost us a lot of runs today. We are excited to be playing in the tournament next week!"

The Stars secured the #4 seed in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) South Division and will return to action Thursday, May 6th when they travel to Aurora University to take on the #25 Spartans with the first pitch set for 4:00 p.m.
