LISLE, Ill. – Dominican University's women's soccer team used three second-half goals to down Benedictine University 3-1 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Wednesday evening.
DU outshot the Eagles 10-3 in the opening 45 minutes, but both sides went into halftime scoreless. The Stars' offensive pressure eventually struck for a goal in the 47th minute with
Hannah Anderson scoring her third of the season.
Regan Coxon found the scoresheet in the 57th minute to put DU ahead 2-0. A Benedictine goal on a penalty kick in the 67th minute brought the Eagles within one, but
Dana Steffen scored just three minutes later to give the Stars' insurance. Dominican saw out the final 20 minutes, securing the 3-1 victory, its fourth-straight.
DU, now 3-0 in NACC competition, continues NACC play on Saturday, Sept. 25, facing off with Wisconsin Lutheran on the road at 1 p.m. Links to live coverage will be available on dustars.com.
