RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team fell in a tight contest 73-71 to Marian University in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play on Saturday afternoon. 
 
Dominican erased a six-point halftime deficit in the second half, tying the score at 71-all with less than 30 seconds remaining. The Sabres had the final say, however, as a full-court sprint led to a buzzer-beating layup, denying DU its second-straight NACC victory. 
 
Chris Daniels II had a team-high 27 points, making four threes, and added nine rebounds and four assists. Jackson Smith, Jacob Riedl and Robert Taylor were also all in double figures with 12, 11 and 10, respectively. As a team, the Stars shot 75 percent from the free throw line, going 24-for-32 in the game.
