River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's soccer team defeated Edgewood College 4-0 on Saturday.
The Stars celebrated Senior Day with a post game ceremony honoring the nine seniors on the roster. There was no better way to celebrate than with a win and the Stars had that goal in mind.
Dominican got off to a quick start with a goal from junior
Sophia Bartridge in the fourth minute of play. Her goal was assisted by junior
Grace Larson and senior
Regan Coxon. The Stars then added to their lead with a goal from Coxon, that was assisted by freshman
Natalia Lopez. Dominican capped of the first half with a third goal coming from sophomore
Katie Norlie, with an assist from freshman Mia Tauilahu.
The second half saw a second goal from Coxon extend the Stars lead. That goal was once again assisted by Tauilahu. Dominican would go on to close out the half without allowing a goal. Senior
Ashley Ishman finished the match with a clean sheet and 4 saves.
Dominican's record improves to 12-3-2 and 10-1 in the NACC. The Stars will conclude their regular season on Wednesday at home against Concordia-Chicago at 3:00 p.m.
