River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's soccer team lost to Marian University 4-3 on Wednesday.
The Stars fell for just the second time this season overall and in conference. Marian scored just 13 minutes into the game and Dominican had to fight to get back in it the entire way. Sophomore
John Cronnolly added a NACCÂ leading 15th and 16th goal. The first came in the 28th minute but was quickly answered less than a minute later with a Marian goal. The Sabres would hold a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Three minutes into the second half, juniorÂ
Alex Espino, notched his first goal of the season. Once again, it took less than a minute for Marian to answer and extend their lead back to 3-2. A fourth Marian goal was too much to overcome as Cronnolly's second goal of the match wasn't enough to come all the way back.
Dominican men's soccer is back in action on Saturday at home against MSOEÂ at 12:00 p.m. This will be a battle between the top two teams in the conference based on record.
