River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team defended home court on Saturday afternoon as they swept the visiting Marian University Sabres 3-0.
Both teams would go back and forth in the first two sets before late runs by the Stars proved to be the difference. Dominican would take the first two sets 25-23, 25-22 before a dominant effort, 25-17, in the third set sealed the sweep.
Cassidy Spies led the team with 12 kills while
Keely McCallum and
Vicky Krzyszkowski contributed with 2 blocks each.
The Stars move to 5-18 overall and 2-5 in NACC play. Dominican hits the road Tuesday night to take on Benedictine in Lisle, Illinois at 7:00pm.
