River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted Maranatha Baptist University on Tuesday. This was their 2022-23 home opener.

How it Happened:
-The Stars rode their defense and rebounding in the first half.
-Dominican held onto a 39-36 lead going into halftime, but looked like they settled in closing the half.
-DU shot just 38 percent from the field in the half compared to Maranatha's 50 percent.
-The Stars improved their shooting to 43 percent in the second half including 43 percent from three-point range.
-Dominican's defense stepped up in the second half and only allowed Maranatha to make 4 of 12 from deep.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Robert Taylor dominated inside, while junior
Jacob Riedl got hot from deep.
-Freshman
Joshua West continued to share the ball effectively
-Taylor and Riedl crashed the boards well and combined for 21 rebounds.
