Men's Basketball Falls at IIT in Opening Round of NACC Tournament

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's men's basketball team was defeated by the Illinois Institute of Technology in the opening round of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

Dominican trailed by 10 at half, but used a solid second-half effort to keep IIT within striking distance for much of the contest. The Scarlet Hawks eventually finished off a 12-point victory, claiming the 70-58 win.

Robert Taylor led the scoring effort with an efficient 7-for-11 shooting performance, scoring 16 points. Jacob Riedl posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Seniors Chris Daniels II and Jackson Smith scored eight and seven points, respectively, in their final collegiate games.

The Stars' season comes to a close with a 2-22 overall mark and 1-16 record in NACC play.
