RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's top-ranked men's volleyball program notched another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) win on Saturday, taking down Benedictine University in four sets.
DU came out firing on all cylinders with a 25-21 opening set win. The Stars continued to surge, taking set two 25-22, but a good start to the third set from the Eagles allowed them to take set three, 26-24. Dominican left no doubt, however, in the fourth set, cruising to a 25-15 victory to move to 13-1 overall and 6-0 in the NACC.
George Kougan led the attack with 16 kills at a .343 clip, adding two block assists and eight digs.
Trey Cowan posted 12 kills in support and recorded a double-double with 11 digs.
Mat Molloy was excellent offensively and defensively for the second-straight match, going for 12 kills and a .588 attack percentage while adding four total blocks.
Jack McGuire facilitated the offense with 41 assists, adding six kills, one service ace, three blocks and nine digs.
Danny Pacini had 13 digs and zero reception errors.
Jacob Bush and
Aaron Marrs combined for 10 kills.
