No. 3 Men's Volleyball Closes Historic Run in NCAA Regional Final

RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's third-ranked men's volleyball program closed out a historic 2022 season on Saturday, falling to host-Carthage College in the Regional Final of the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Volleyball Championships.

The Stars finished their campaign with a 25-2 overall record and as winners of both the NACC's Regular and Postseason Championships, the first time in program history that DU has been the outright winners of both in the same season. Dominican also had a program-record 21-match win streak before the loss to the Firebirds and defeated six nationally-ranked opponents during the season.

This also marks the final collegiate competition for the outstanding senior class of Jack McGuire, Trey Cowan, George Kougan, Mat Molloy, Daniel Sharrah and Lucas Eggers

The Stars were swept by the No. 2 Firebirds by set scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-17, respectively. Cowan led the offensive effort with 13 kills while Kougan and Molloy added five each. McGuire dished out 27 assists to finish his career with a program-record 3,780 assists. Sharrah had two kills in his final collegiate match.
