RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's baseball program split its doubleheader with MSOE on Friday in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play.
DU won the opener 5-3 before falling 8-3 in the second game. The Stars are now 19-13 overall and 10-8 in conference action.
Game One
Dominican scored two first inning runs and never trailed from that point forward, securing a 5-3 victory.
Hayden Young (7-1) earned the win for DU, pitching 8.0 innings and allowing just three earned runs with six strikeouts.
Dominic Desch picked up his sixth save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

Grayson Downing and
CJ Kalekas each had two hits to lead the offensive effort.
Braiden Galvin had a team-high two RBI while
Matt Galdi,
Brandon Diedrich and Kalekas each had one RBI.
Game Two
Dominican trailed 6-0 after four innings, but responded with three runs in the top of the fifth to pull within three of the Raiders. MSOE kept DU off the board from there and added two insurance runs to claim the 8-3 win.
Justin Gasper (2-2) suffered the loss, allowing five runs in 2.0 innings.
Diedrich and Downing had two hits each at the plate with each coming around to score. Garret Wano and Kalekas had DU's two RBI.
