RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's softball program fell in its opening round Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament matchup with MSOE in a rain-delayed contest that was completed on Saturday.
With the change in tournament format to single-elimination due to the weekend's inclement weather, Dominican's 2-0 defeat marked the end of its 2022 campaign. DU finished its 2022 season with 26-13 overall record and a 13-11 mark in the NACC. Both win totals are the most for the program since 2017. Head Coach
Cristina Lukas also eclipsed the 400-win milestone during the season.
In the matchup with the Raiders, which began on Thursday, the Stars had seven hits compared to MSOE's four. MSOE opened the scoring in the third, however, with two runs and kept Dominican off the board behind strong pitching from Kennedy Lehn.
Allyson Dilday pitched admirably in her final game, throwing 6.0 innings while allowing four hits and two runs, both unearned and striking out six. DU's seven hits came from seven different players.
