RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Dominican University's baseball program was swept by Benedictine University on Sunday in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play to conclude its 2022 season.
DU fell by scores of 9-1 and 6-3, respectively, to the Eagles, finishing its season with a 20-18 overall record and 11-13 mark in the NACC.
Game One
DU trailed 5-0 after 4.5 innings, but scored one in the bottom of the fifth to pull within four. Benedictine responded with seven runs in next two innings, however, to secure the result.
Chris Kendziora (1-5) took the loss in 4.0 innings, giving up four earned runs and six hits while striking out three.

CJ Kalekas and
Austin Doty each had one hit while
Zach Rigdon knocked in Dominican's lone run.
Game Two
Dominican started the scoring in the night cap with two runs in the bottom of the second, but the Eagles answered with four runs in the second and third innings combined to go ahead 4-2. DU cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the fourth, but was held scoreless the rest of the way. Benedictine picked up two insurance runs to seal the win.
Justin Gasper (2-3) suffered the defeat, going 3.2 innings while surrendering four runs and striking out two.
Brandon Diedrich and Kalekas each had two hits to lead the offensive effort.
Braiden Galvin had a two-RBI single to account for both of the Stars' RBI.
