River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's basketball team hosted Marian University this afternoon in the first home game back from winter break.
Results:
Marian: 77
Dominican: 61
How it Happened:
-In the first half, the Sabres shot 41.9% from the field, while holding the Stars to 26.9% shooting from the field.
-Going into the half, Marian led 37-22
-The second half saw a lot more scoring by both teams as the score was 40-39 in favor of Marian.
-DU could not overcome the poor outside shooting only converting 2 of 16 attempts from behind the arc.
-Dominican won the bench points comparison and the points in the paint battle 26-15 and 28-26 respectfully.
-The Stars also shot 24 free throws in the game and made 17 of them.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Jacob Riedl had a double-double finishing with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
-Junior
Andre Bennett finished with 19 points, shooting 7-10 from the field and making all 5 free throw attempts.
-Junior
Robert Taylor had a big day coming off of the bench scoring 15 points and collecting one block.
