River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team hosted Fontbonne University on Friday. This was the Stars home opener and they celebrated the 2022 Elite 8 team pregame.

Results:
Fontbonne : 3
Dominican: 0 

How it Happened:
-Dominican had 4 kills on 18 total attempts in the first set. Fontbonne had 11 kills on 18 total attempts. DU lost the first set 25-16. 
-The Stars had 11 kills on 26 total attempts in the second set. The Griffins had 9 kills on 18 attempts. The Stars fell 25-21 in the second set. 
-In the third and final set, DU fell 25-13.  
-In the entire match, the Stars had an .184 hitting percentage along with 25 total assists. 
-Defensively DU had 19 digs and 4 blocks.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Casey Goss was the go to offensive option and led the Stars in kills.
-Sophomore Owen Morrow once again led the team in assists.
-Senior Jacob Bush competed on the net and led the team in blocks.

What's Next:
The Dominican University men's volleyball team will be back in action February 15th as they hit the road and take on Illinois Wesleyan at 7:00 p.m.
