Montgomery, Ill - The Dominican University softball team played against #2 MSOE in the 2023 NACC Softball Tournament.
Results:
Dominican: 3
MSOE: 5
How it Happened:
-DU dug themselves into a hole in the bottom of the first with an early run scoring for MSOE.
-MSOE was able to add a run in the third and three runs in the fifth to extend their lead to 5-0.
-Dominican fought back with their season on the line in the top of the seventh.
-Sophomores
Liliana Santoyo,
Emma Woodhouse, and junior
Theresa Wilsterman each drove in a run and the MSOE lead shrunk to a two-run deficit.
-The Raiders were able to hold on and the comeback for DU fell just short.
Shining Stars:
-Wilsterman scored a run and drove in a run for the Stars.
-Woodhouse drove in a run and went 1-2.
-Sophomore
Hanna Voegtle pitched 3 innings of relief allowing just 2 runs.

What's Next:
This concludes the season for the 2023 Dominican University softball team. Dominican won a program record 31 games in route to a third place NACC finish.
