River Forest, Ill. -The Dominican University men's soccer team hosted the Blue Jays from Elmhurst University in their first home game of the season.

How it Happened:
-Dominican and Elmhurst played a very tight first half. 
DU opened up the scoring in the 42nd minute of the game when Junior Derrick Apholz scored his first goal in a Stars uniform. 
-The score remained 1-0 going into the half. Dominican recorded 13 shots in the first half. 
DU kept up with the pressure in the second half recording another 13 shots. 
-Junior John Cronnolly scored his third goal of the season at the penalty marker in the 60th minute of the game. 
Dominican won 2-0 with a total of 26 shots and 9 of them on target. 

Shining Stars:
-Junior John Cronnolly had 8 total shots in the game, with 3 of them on target including the goal from the penalty marker. 
-Junior Derrick Apholz recorded 90 minutes played 2 shots on goal including the games first goal. 
-Senior Vicente Castro recorded 6 shots and 3 of them on net.
