De Pere, Wis. - The Dominican University women's volleyball team participated in their first match of the SNC Invite on Friday.
Results:
Dominican: 1
Carroll: 3
How it Happened:
-Dominican lost a close first set 25-22, despite having more kills than their opponent.
-The Stars' lone set win came in the second as they had a match-low 3 errors.
-DU won the second set 25-17.
-Dominican lost the momentum in the third set with just 9 kills to Carroll's 14.
-The Stars fell behind 2 sets to 1 after losing 25-20 in the third.
-DU would lost the final set 25-11.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Cassidy Spies once again led the Stars in kills with 15 and also had 2 service aces.
-Junior
Olivia Mendell contributed in a variety of ways including leading team in assists, adding 2 blocks, and having 16 digs.
-Senior
Emily Schellhase provided a little bit of everything with 9 kills, an ace, a block, and 9 digs.
-Junior
Charlotte Hain was everywhere defensively with a career high in digs.
