River Forest, Ill. - The Dominican University men's volleyball team hosted #3 California Lutheran University on Saturday.
Results:
CLU: 3
Dominican: 2
How it Happened:
-Dominican and Cal Lutheran battled back and forth all evening in a tight well-played match.
-DU couldn't overcome 6 first-set errors and lost 25-22.
-The Stars had almost an exact replica of the first set in the second as they had 5 errors and lost the set 25-21.
-Dominican came to life in the third set. They found themselves down to match-point multiple times but fought off CLU to win the third set 27-25.
-DU carried that momentum into the fourth set where they had 13 kills and just 2 errors en route to a 25-21 victory.
-The Stars ran out of gas in their 8th set of the day and finally lost in extra points 16-14.
Shining Stars:
-Junior
Aaron Marrs had one of the most impressive performances of his collegiate career with 24 kills, a new career high.
-Junior
Casey Goss was also locked in as he had an impressive 15 kills, 2 aces, 4 blocks, and 11 digs.
-Junior
Owen Morrow did a great job setting up teammates as he had a season-high 49 assists.
