Dominican Falls in Conference Game

River Forest, Ill.- The Dominican University men's basketball team traveled to Benedictine University for their third conference game of the season on Wednesday night.

 Results:
Benedictine: 88
Dominican: 66


 How it Happened:
 -Dominican started off slow, giving up a 6-0 run to the Eagles in the first two minutes of the game.
 -DU would cut the BenU lead to just 2 after Graduate student Robbie Taylor hit a jumper in the paint.
 -The Eagles once again went on a 7-0 run before Senior Quante May made a layup, stopping the run.
 -The Stars would go cold from the floor and went into the half facing a 41-23 deficit. Dominican shot 35% from the field and was led by Robbie Taylor scoring 8 points in the half.
 -Dominican made their first shot in the second half with Junior Dominic Crapia knocking down a 3-point jumper.
 -Junior Adrian Pelszynski created a spark for the DU offense by hitting three straight 3-pointers.
 -The Stars continued to scratch and claw their way back into the game, but one last BenU run put the game on ice.
-Dominican shot better in every category in the second half. 46% from the floor, 53% from behind the arc, and 70% from the charity stripe.
-DU had 44 bench points in the game, being led by team high Pelszynski, who put up 17 minutes off the bench.

 Shining Stars:
 -Junior Adrian Pelszynski led the Stars with 15 points and shot 5-7 from 3 in his best game in a Stars uniform. Pelszynski also collected 5 rebounds, which was team high.
 -Senior Terrell Taylor continued to be an offensive spark for DU, scoring 11 points and shooting 50% from the floor. T. Taylor chipped in with 4 assists.
 -5th-year student Camron Scott continues his journey to 100 blocks by collecting 2 more blocks tonight. Scott also put up 5 points in the matchup.

 What's Next:
 The Dominican University men's basketball team will be back in action Saturday afternoon in game one of the doubleheader in the Igini Sports Forum. The Stars will host the Raiders of MSOE at 1:00 pm.
