Kenosha, Wis.- The Dominican University men's volleyball team traveled to the #13 team in the country, Carthage College on Thursday.
Results:
Carthage: 3
Dominican: 2
How it Happened:
-Dominican came out of the gates hot winning the set 25-22. With 13 kills on 35% hitting percentage.
-The Stars were able to overcome 11 total errors in the first set.
-DU went cold offensively in set number two falling 25-18. The Stars had 6 attack errors in this set.
-Dominican had a better set in the third by collecting 10 kills and only 4 attack errors, but fell 25-17.
-The Stars won the fourth set 25-23, to push the match to a crucial 5th set. In the fourth set Dominican had a team high 15 kills on 46 attempts.
-In the fifth in final set, DU fell 15-10 and could not overcome the 10 kills by Carthage.
Shining Stars:
-Senior Jarod Hesse had a career high in kills with 18 of them on 43 total attacks. Hesse also collected and ace.
-Junior Casey Goss chipped in with 9 kills of his own. Goss also had an assist and an ace.
-Junior Owen Morrow collected himself 39 assists. Morrow also had 11 digs.
-Freshman Grant Henderson had team high 13 digs.

What's Next: The Dominican University men's volleyball team will be on the road February 13th with a matchup against North Park University. Match start time is at 7:00 p.m.
