Schaumburg, Ill. – The Dominican University baseball team hosted the Regents of Rockford University Tuesday afternoon, for their final home series. 

Game 1 Results:
Dominican: 1
Rockford 8

How it Happened:
-The Regents got the scoring going in the top of the first by scoring 2 runs on 2 hits.
-DU cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the first inning with Sophomore Niko Krecu hitting a sacrifice fly to centerfield.
-Rockford got their lead back to two runs on a solo homerun in the third inning.         
-In the top of the 5^th the Regents added 2 runs on 2 hits. This making the score 5-1.  
-Rockford scored a run in the 6^th on a hit.  
-The Regents made it scoring in three straight innings by taking advantage of 4 errors by the Stars.  
 

Shining Stars:
- Senior Grayson Downing started his first game since the wrist injury and picked up where he left off before the injury. Going 3 for 4 with a run scored.  
-Senior Matt Galdi's bat stayed hot by going 2 for 4.  
-Junior Ryan Schmidt went 2 for 3.
-Sophomore Niko Krecu went 1 for 2 with an RBI and a walk.

Game 2 Results:
Dominican: 4
Rockford: 16

How it Happened:
-The Stars shut down the Regents in the top of the first inning, and was able to get on the board in the bottom of the first.     
-The scoring got going with Junior Quinton Schwartz hitting an RBI double. Junior CJ Kalekas followed it up with an RBI single.
-Dominican added two more runs in the second inning. The first run on an RBI single by Senior Grayson Downing. The very next better Senior Anthony Nalbono brought in the second run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to left field. This scoring Junior Gavin Zappe.
-Rockford got on the board in the third inning by scoring 3 runs on 4 hits.
-The Regents carried their momentum into the 5^th scoring 3 runs on 3 hits. This taking a 6-4 at the end of the 5^th inning.
- Rockford scratched a run across the board in the 6^th on 3 hits.
- The Regents scored in the third straight inning by scoring 4 runs on 3 hits. 3 of the runs came on a three-run homerun.
- Rockford kept rolling in the 8^th inning scoring a run on a hit.
- This making the score 12-4 in favor of RU.
- The Regents added 4 runs on 3 hits, with another three run homerun.

Shining Stars:
-Senior Grayson Downing continued to be the source of the Stars offense going 3 for 5 with an RBI.  
-Senior Anthony Nalbono went 2 for 3 with a walk, a run scored, and an RBI.  
-Junior Quinton Schwartz went 2 for 3 with an RBI, and a run scored.  
-Junior CJ Kalekas went 1 for 3 with an RBI

What's Next:
The Dominican University baseball team will travel to Illinois Tech for their final series of the season. This will be Friday afternoon. First pitch of the double header will be at 1:00 p.m.
