Aurora, Ill. – The #1 seed in the NACC Tournament Dominican University Stars, played the 4
th seeded Aurora University Spartans, for DU's first game of the tournament.
Game 1 Results:

How it Happened:
-The first run of the ball game was scored in the bottom of the second inning with the Stars scoring.
-This run was delivered by Sophomore
Ryley Davis on two out RBI triple, and scoring Sophomore
Paytin Salfi from first base.
-The Spartans threatened to score in 5 of the last 6 innings, but never got a run across the board due to the fantastic defense, and the starting pitching of the Stars.
-AU got runners on first and third with 2 outs in the final inning before, Senior
Geneva Pollman secured the final out of the game on fly ball to right center field.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Kayla Faber-Cournane started in the circle for Dominican and she was fantastic. Throwing all 7 innings, while collecting 3 strikeouts.
-Sophomore
Ryley Davis went 1 for 2 with an RBI, which was the only run that crossed the plate.
-Sophomore
Paytin Salfi went 1 for 2 with a run scored.
-Junior
Emma Woodhouse went 1 for 3.

What's Next:
With this win the Dominican University softball team moved on to the Semi-Finals of the NACC tournament and will play Tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The Stars will play the winner of Marian and Lakeland University.
