River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University women’s basketball team will host the Falcons of Concordia Wisconsin for their first home game since January 8th.  

Series History vs CUW:

DU and CUW first played in 2008 in the Igini Sports Forum. 

All-Time Record: 2-23/ Dominican L5 

The last time the Stars beat the Falcons was 2/26/2020, to the score of 64-59, inside the Igini Sports Forum. 

This is the first and only meeting this season between the two schools. 

DU in Review:

-Dominican has won 4 of the last 7 games. Their latest win was on January 11th at Alverno College, with a score of 74-53. 

-DU will be back in the Igini after two straight road games where they went 1-1 and a plus/minus of 12 in those two games. 
-The Stars ran into some shooting struggles on Wednesday night but only lost by 9 points on the road.  
-Dominican is in the middle of their conference season and will look to steal their first conference win on their home court. 

DU Players:
-The Stars offense has gone through Graduate Student Melissa Gomez, who leads the team with 156 total points on the year. Gomez has been on fire, scoring in double figures in 7 of the last 8 games, and in that one game Gomez scored 9 points.    

- Sophomore Lia Saunders has been all over the court for the Stars consistently this season. Saunders has recorded a stat in points, rebounds, and assists in every single game this season aside from two where she did not pick up an assist or score a point. Saunders is coming off the game on Wednesday where she played 37 of the 40 minutes. 

-Freshman Chenoa Moss has recently been a factor offensively for DU. Moss has scored in double figures in 3 of the last 5 games. In the most recent game, Moss recorded 8 points and 8 rebounds. 

-Freshman Danielle Washington is a player to always look out for if she catches fire from downtown. Washington is shooting 31% from behind the arc but has multiple games where she has knocked down 5 threes. Washington is coming off a game where she went 3-8 from behind the arc and finished with 11 points.   

 

Scouting Report:
-CUW comes into this game winning 2 of their last 3 conference games, with the most recent being a loss on the road at St. Norbert. The Falcons currently have a 4-9 overall record and a 4-2 conference record. 

-Concordia Wisconsin is just 2-4 away from Mequon, Wisconsin.

-Before the St. Norbert loss, the Falcons beat Marian and Benedictine on 1/8 and 1/11, respectively. 

-CUW has been a streaky team all year, winning two or three in a row and then losing two or three in a row.
