Chicago, Ill. – Dominican University Women's Basketball is back on the road to take on the Illinois Institute of Technology.


Series History vs IIT:

Record in Chicago: 5-2

The last time the Stars defeated IIT was on February 15th, 2022 with a final score of 53-39.

DU in Review:

-The 2024-25 season is Head Coach Tethnie Carrillo's first with Dominican. 

-DU holds a 1-5 record in conference, with their win coming against Alverno on Saturday, January 11th by a final of 74-53. 


-The Stars currently boast a 3-4 record away from the Igini Sports Forum. 
-Dominican's five wins on the season is already the most since 2021-22, when they had six.

Last Time Out:

-The Stars fell at home on Alumni Day to Concordia Wisconsin, 51-70.

- Freshman Chenoa Moss paced DU with 13 points while adding 5 rebounds.

- Graduate Student Melissa Gomez collected 11 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal.

Star Gazing:


-The Stars offense has been led by Graduate Student Melissa Gomez. Gomez averages 11.1 points per game on the season and has been in double figures in 8 of the last 9 games.    

- Sophomore Lia Saunders has been all over the court for the Stars consistently this season. Saunders has recorded a stat in points, rebounds, and assists in every single game this season aside from two where she did not pick up an assist or score a point.

-Freshman Chenoa Moss has recently been a factor offensively for DU. Moss has scored in double figures in 5 of the last 7 games. 

-Freshman Danielle Washington is a player to always look out for if she catches fire from downtown. Washington is shooting 31.6% from behind the arc but has multiple games where she has knocked down 5 threes.

-Illinois Tech currently holds a 6-9 overall record and is 2-4 in NACC play. The Scarlet Hawks have dropped 3 of their last 4 contests, their most recent being a win at home against Alverno, 82-61.  

-IIT is 4-5 at the Keating Sports Center.

-The Scarlet Hawks average 59.8 points per game while their opponents average 66.7. 

-IIT has been out rebounded in their contests 36.6 to 45.1 on average.
