Women's Soccer Looks to Close Regular Season Out Strong at CUC

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Soccer team will wrap up their three-game road trip and the regular season with a match against rivals Concordia Chicago at CUC on Wednesday afternoon.

Series History vs. Concordia Chicago:
All-Time Record / Streak: 21- 6 / W9
-Dominican and Concordia Chicago first played on 9/06/2001 at CUC (W, 3-0).
-In the first 10 matches between DU and CUC each other, the Stars were 6-4.
-Dominican is riding a 9-game win streak against Concordia Chicago, in this stretch the Stars have scored 26 goals and have only given up 2.
-DU is 11-2 at CUC.
-Dominican is 15-2 inside NACC play against Concordia Chicago.
-The Stars have scored 75 total goals against the Cougars, which averages 2.78 goals per game.
-Last year when these two schools played the Stars won 4-1 with Grad Student Grace Larson scoring all 4 goals for DU.
 
DU in Review:
-The Stars hold an 10-5-1 (8-3 NACC) record in 2025.
-Dominican went 11-6-3 overall in their 2024 season, while going 9-1-2 inside the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
-DU was the third seed in the conference tournament last season, where they won their first matchup against Marian University 2-0.

-Head Coach Carlos Carrillo enters his 12th season at the helm of DU Women's Soccer. Carrillo has amassed a record of 151-49-16 in that time.

Last Time Out:
-Dominican have won three-straight games after beating Wisconsin Lutheran 4-1 at WLC.
-Junior Meghan Wilhite earned the Star of the game, collecting her first career hat trick, scoring two goals in the first half and one in the second half. Wilhite had 4 shots in the game.
-Senior Sierra Rioux collected her 4th goal of the season; she also had 2 shots, with 2 of those shots being on target.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek continued to battle for Dominican with two, shots and one of those was on target.
-Senior Sarah Borsellino collected two shots, and one of those found the target.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek made 3 saves between the woodwork for the Stars.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Kamryn Klinger, who has been the heart and soul for the Stars as a defensive midfielder. In 2024, Klinger was honored with second team all-conference in the NACC by having 18 appearances and 15 starts for Dominican, while playing 1292 minutes. Klinger was one of the three players from Dominican that represented Team USA in the DIII Soccer Tour.
-Senior Natalia Lopez returns for her senior campaign as a midfielder for the Stars. Last season, Lopez had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 25 shots on goal in her 20 appearances through the 2024 season. Lopez was honored with a first-team all-conference selection in the NACC. In Lopez's three-year career at Dominican, she has scored 18 goals, collected 10 assists, with 4 game-winning goals in her 59 appearances in a Stars uniform.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek will be back in a Stars uniform this upcoming season, where she has been a huge part of the Dominican style of play on the outside. Matuszek is coming off a season where she scored 3 goals and added 6 assists while appearing in all 20 matches in the 2024 season. Matuszek earned first-team all-conference in the NACC last season.
-Senior Mia Taullahu is back for Dominican this upcoming year and is looking to continue creating havoc on the outside as a forward. Taullahu collected a goal and 6 assists in her 17 appearances in the 2024 season.
-Senior Mia Dosen will be back for the Stars in her second season at Dominican. She will be wearing a new number this season, changing from #34 to #10. Last season, Dosen collected 7 goals and 2 assists with 17 shots on goal in her 20 appearances.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney is looking to take another big step in her second season at Dominican. Barney finished her freshman campaign by having 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances. With this, Barney is tied for the most goal contributions from the 2024 season with 10.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Logan Shanks had a strong campaign for the Stars, scoring 4 goals while having 24 shots, 16 of them being on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux has been on fire for this Stars offense, scoring 4 goals so far this year. Rioux has also collected 37 shots, with 16 of those on target, and leads the squad with 6 assists this season.
-Senior Natalia Lopez has started all 15 games for the Stars and has scored 2 goals on 34 total shots. Lopez has also tallied 2 assists on the season and is top 4 in minutes on the team with 1234.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek has continued to put in a strong shift for the Stars, as the Senior fullback has collected 3 goals, 31 shots, and 15 shots on target. Matuszek has logged 1361 minutes so far this season, which leads the team in this category.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger has notched 3 goals this season and is tied for 3rd on the team. Klinger has played in 1363 minutes for DU has 2 game-winning goals.
-Senior Mia Dosen has come on strong for Dominican the last couple of games and is now at the top of the squad in goals with 7of them.
-Junior Meghan Wilhite scored her first collegiate hat-trick against WLC and has scored 5 goals on the season with 2 assists.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek has played in 12 games this season and has made 50 saves.


NACC Playoff Picture:
-Dominican officially clinched a spot in the NACC playoff picture and is in the 4th spot which would result in a home game in the quarterfinal round.
-The Stars have 24 total points on the season with one match remaining.
-CUC is just on the outside of the top 8, as the 9th team in the conference with 11 points.
-This is a must win for the Cougars to have a chance at the NACC tournament.
-Illinois Tech (1), Dominican (4) and CUW (5) are the only schools to have their ranking locked in.

Scouting Report:
-Concordia Chicago is 3-12-3 overall for the 2025 season and is 3-6-2 in the NACC.
-The Cougars are 2-6-2 on their home turf.
-CUC has lost back-to-back games with 2-0 losses to Edgewood and Marian University.
-Concordia Chicago's last win was on October 15th, in a 4-2 win over Benedictine University.
-The Cougars have scored 15 goals this season (.83 goals per game) and have accumulated 221 shots (12.3 shots per game).
