#4 Women's Soccer Shifts Attention to Host #5 Concordia Wisconsin

River Forest, Ill. – The 4th-seeded Dominican University Women's Soccer team will host the 5th-seeded Concordia University of Wisconsin Falcons on Sunday morning.

Series History vs. Concordia Wisconsin:
All-Time Record / Streak: 11-15-2 / W1
-Dominican and Concordia Wisconsin first played on 9/15/2004 at West Campus Field (L, 3-0).
-In the first 10 matches between DU and CUW, the Stars were 3-7.
-Dominican is 5-1-1 in their last 7 games against the Falcons. The Stars have scored 11 goals during this stretch.
-DU is 7-7-1 at West Campus Field against Concordia Wisconsin.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Kamryn Klinger, who has been the heart and soul for the Stars as a defensive midfielder. In 2024, Klinger was honored with second team all-conference in the NACC by having 18 appearances and 15 starts for Dominican, while playing 1292 minutes. Klinger was one of the three players from Dominican that represented Team USA in the DIII Soccer Tour.
-Senior Natalia Lopez returns for her senior campaign as a midfielder for the Stars. Last season, Lopez had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 25 shots on goal in her 20 appearances through the 2024 season. Lopez was honored with a first-team all-conference selection in the NACC. In Lopez's three-year career at Dominican, she has scored 18 goals, collected 10 assists, with 4 game-winning goals in her 59 appearances in a Stars uniform.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek will be back in a Stars uniform this upcoming season, where she has been a huge part of the Dominican style of play on the outside. Matuszek is coming off a season where she scored 3 goals and added 6 assists while appearing in all 20 matches in the 2024 season. Matuszek earned first-team all-conference in the NACC last season.
-Senior Mia Taullahu is back for Dominican this upcoming year and is looking to continue creating havoc on the outside as a forward. Taullahu collected a goal and 6 assists in her 17 appearances in the 2024 season.
-Senior Mia Dosen will be back for the Stars in her second season at Dominican. She will be wearing a new number this season, changing from #34 to #10. Last season, Dosen collected 7 goals and 2 assists with 17 shots on goal in her 20 appearances.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney is looking to take another big step in her second season at Dominican. Barney finished her freshman campaign by having 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances. With this, Barney is tied for the most goal contributions from the 2024 season with 10.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Logan Shanks had a strong campaign for the Stars, scoring 4 goals while having 27 shots, 16 of them being on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux has been on fire for this Stars offense, scoring 4 goals so far this year. Rioux has also collected 39 shots, with 18 of those on target, and leads the squad with 6 assists this season.
-Senior Natalia Lopez has started all 16 games for the Stars and has scored 2 goals on 34 total shots. Lopez has also tallied 2 assists on the season and is top 4 in minutes on the team with 1324.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek has continued to put in a strong shift for the Stars, as the Senior fullback has collected 3 goals, 33 shots, and 15 shots on target. Matuszek has logged 1451 minutes so far this season.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger has notched 3 goals this season and is tied for 3rd on the team. Klinger has played in 1453 minutes for DU has 2 game-winning goals.
-Senior Mia Dosen has come on strong for Dominican the last couple of games and is now at the top of the squad in goals with 9 of them, scoring 5 goals in her last 2 games.
-Junior Meghan Wilhite scored her first collegiate hat trick against WLC and has scored 5 goals on the season with 2 assists.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek has played in 13 games this season and has made 52 saves.


NACC Playoff Picture:
-Dominican will head into the NACC tournament riding a 4-game win streak.
-Last time DU was the 4th seed in the tournament was 2024.
-The Stars finished 4th with a record of 9-3 inside the NACC and finished with 27 points.
-The Falcons finished 5th with a record of 8-4 inside the NACC and finished with 24 points.
-Concordia Wisconsin enters the tournament winning back-to-back games.
-The winner of DU/CUW will face the winner of #8 Wisconsin Lutheran and #1 Illinois Tech on Wednesday night. (October 5th)
